Any person or business that has an Alarm System in the City of Los Angeles at a business address and/or at a residential address must have a valid Los Angeles City Alarm System Police Permit. There are three types of Alarm Police Permits; each requires that an Alarm Police Permit application be filled out, along with the appropriate permit fee (see below). The police permits are renewable each year. The renewal form is mailed at the end of October or the first week in November and must be renewed by December 31st of each year. Applications and renewals can be completed online through Office of Finance website, mail or visiting any Office of Finance offices listed below.Important Information: If an alarm company monitors your alarm system, please verify your permit number with the alarm company. A police car may not be dispatched to your location unless the alarm company provides a valid alarm system police permit number.
